When I switch between word documents it automatically puts my cursor in the center of the screen, why?

I noticed recently that whenever I switch between two word documents by using the taskbar, my cursor automatically starts in the center of the screen. Let me explain in greater detail:

When I have two word documents open I move my cursor down to the taskbar and hover over the word icon so I can select the document I want to switch to. Once I click on it and it brings up the document, the cursor is automatically moved from the taskbar where it originally was to the center of the screen. This is very annoying when I'm trying to copy and paste something from one doc to another as it makes it take longer to switch between docs. I've noticed the same thing occurring when I switch between a PowerPoint and a word doc. Is there a way to stop this from occurring? I just want my cursor to remain in the same place that I left it. I don't want my cursor to moving unless I'm the one moving it. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

    Hi Cassidy W!

I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with Word on your PC.

This may possibly be caused by an add-in or a third-party program running on your computer or the Word app being corrupt.

    1. Check your add-ins: Try disabling any add-ins you have installed in Word to see if one of them is causing the issue. To do this, click on File > Options > Add-ins, select "COM Add-ins" from the Manage drop-down menu, and click "Go." Clear the checkboxes next to any add-ins you have installed, and then click "OK." Restart Word and see if the issue persists.
    2. Repair your Office installation: If the above steps don't work, try repairing your Office installation. Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, select Microsoft Office from the list of installed programs, and click "Change." Select "Repair" and follow the on-screen instructions to repair your Office installation.
