Touchpad Tab Scrolling Scrolling

I used to be able to scroll with my touchpad along all the tabs of a workbook to the one I wanted then take my fingers off the touch pad to click on the tab and enter into it.

Now I can still scroll along, but as soon as I take my fingers off the touchpad the tabs jump back to view the tab I was working on. I have to 'scroll' by using the green arrows on the left hand side (not the scroll bar).

Say I'm on tab 12 and I want to go to tab 1 but it doesn't fit in my view, I will swiping along to be able to see tab 1 then stop swiping to click on it, but the tab view jumps back to show tab 12 and I can't see tab 1 any more.

How can I revert back to what I had?
