For example i have a list of operations in one excel. Now i want to map that data with another excel with data validation option with drop down list . It is working with select operations directly instead of typing option which will refill balance like search option. Otherwise it will become a tedious job to select operation name in 1000 names . Do we have any solution for this

    Hi Vinayagamoorthy!

Perhaps, you can use the "Data Validation" feature with a "List" option and use the "Named Range" function to create a dynamic range for your list.

Here are the steps: * Select the cell where you want to create the dropdown list. * Go to the "Data" tab and click on "Data Validation" in the "Data Tools" group. * In the "Settings" tab of the "Data Validation" dialog box, select "List" in the "Allow" dropdown. * In the "Source" field, enter the named range of the list you want to use. For example, if your list of operations is in cells A1:A1000, you can name this range "OperationsList" by selecting the range and typing the name in the "Name Box" next to the formula bar. * Click OK to close the "Data Validation" dialog box. Now, when you click on the dropdown arrow in the cell, you should see the list of operations. You can also start typing the name of the operation you want and Excel will automatically filter the list for you.

Note: If you add or remove items from the list of operations, you will need to update the named range for the Data Validation to work properly.

Kindly let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Best Regards, Shakiru
