Shared Mailbox - shows wrong user

We have a shared mailbox set up in outlook for everyone to access. Everyone logs in and sees their own mailbox and the shared folder. One user gets a message that it is trying to update the shared folder, but it has a different user's name listed instead of hers. She can see her own inbox, but this issue is causing freezing and extreme lag.

    Hello Larry Osuch,

Many thanks for posting to Microsoft Community.

I understand that you have an issue where one user is getting the message that their Outlook is trying to "Update the shared folder". Can you kindly let me know if by "Update the shared folder" message you mean the user is getting the shared mailbox status in the bottom bar in Outlook Desktop is showing “Updating this folder”? You may share a screenshot as well just in case I got you wrong. Thanks in advance.

If that is the case, please check in the Outlook on the web via (https://outlook.office.com) whether the user can access the shared mailbox with no issues? This will help us narrow down if the issue is with the Outlook app itself.

If there are no issues on the web, please have the user try to create a new Outlook profile. Sometimes, this symptom can be caused by a corruption from the current profile.

You may as well repair your .PST or .OST file using the Inbox Repair Tool (scanpst.exe). Please see steps in. Repair Outlook Data Files (.pst and .ost).

Please understand that our initial reply may not always immediately resolve the issue. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

    Looking forward for your response.

    Best Regards,

    Ashraf
