Yes, event macros can work while you are co-authoring.

Hello,
My client works with a large Excel file (30 MB) with a few event macros in it. The file is stored on Sharepoint. She uses co-authoring with other users. Works with Autosave on.
The problem is that each time she works in the file, whether there are other users sharing it at the time or not, she gets an Upload Failed error message and then Autosave turns off. (see picture below) So the client then has to discard the changes, save the file, and then autosave will come back on. This is causing a lot of delays.
Is there any advice you can give me on what my client can do to reduce the number of times this particular error message appears? Thank you very much for any help! Craig

Yes, event macros can work while you are co-authoring.
Can you please clarify
In the first reply to this thread was a line from
"Best Practices while Coauthoring in Excel - Microsoft Support"
that stated:
"...Executing VBA functions or macros while coauthoring is fine..."
Just want to make sure that includes all types of macros like Event Macros.
Please confirm - thanks very much
It is not suggested to use any macro when you want to use the co-authoring at same time.
Thank you very much
I have a follow-up question:
My file contains event macros; for example macros that allow the user to pick more than one item from a data validation drop down list and macros that insert a comment into a cell when a cell's content is changed.
So just to be sure and clear, are you saying that even with Event type macros like these in the file, executing these macros while coauthoring if fine?
(I understand to only edit Macros or VBA code when working alone)
Thank you very much!
Craig
