SharePoint List- Data in Calculated Column not available on a chart

Hello

I have a SP list with a calculated column that summarises the numbers in other columns to return a single number.

When creating a chart, the drop down go select the data to display does not show me this calculated column as an option to select. It is only providing columns that have number settings which are not calculated.

I have been into the calculated column settings and selected the data to be returned a a number

However it saves it as a 'calculated field and not a number format field

However this field called 'overall score' still does not show to enable me to select it for my chart.

Any ideas much appreciated! :)

    Dear KMannUOE,

Greetings! Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

Based on your description, it seems that you use quick chart web part on a SharePoint page. You have a SharePoint list with calculated column, when creating a chart by using quick chart web part and get data from the list, the drop down go select the data to display does not show this calculated column as an option to select.

May I know if my understanding of the scenario is right?

If yes, I tried testing in SharePoint from my side and found I reproduced the same situation as you described. Per searching and test, I'm afraid that it's not available to use calculated column for quick chart web part.

We deeply understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

Personally, I do understand your concern and I completely agree with you. It would be definitely ideal if we could select a calculated column to display data in quick chart web part. This is indeed a good addition to the current features of SharePoint. Thank you for bringing thing to our attention.
