Excel - How to sort rows by date?

Hello,

I wrote several dates on the lines.

Even though I set the cell formatting to date, it's still possible to sort A - Z, which it does by numbers, which logically doesn't work for date.

How do I do that, please?

Thank you

Data>Text to Columns> Next,Next > choose date and select MDY or DMY to convert your data to date formta. Then you can sort it.

Those dates are actually stored as text. Do you normally use the dot as the date separator in your regional settings?
