VLOOKUP conditional format highlighting wrong cell

Im currently using the below lookup and it is highlighting the cell above the one it should:

=NOT(ISERROR(VLOOKUP($G2,$H$2:$H5,1,FALSE)))

I am trying to highlight any values in List1 that appear in List2

Microsoft 365 and Office | Excel | For home | Windows

Hi,

Try this simpler approach. Select G2:G15, press the Ctrl key and then select H2:H5. Go to Home > Conditional formatting > Highlight cell Rules > Duplicate values > OK.
