Cannot print files from Excel

Question

Hello;

I am unable to print files from Microsoft Excel 365 (Desktop). I am able to print documents from Microsoft Word and other programs. I am also able to print documents from Excel online, and if I convert the files to PDF and print them that way.

It essentially seems to be just any file (XLSX or XLS) from Excel desktop. The printer is HP.

I have re-installed printer drivers, repaired Office and used the Sara tool, all to no avail. Any ideas please?

Since it is only affecting Excel, I am thinking that this issue is either with the workbook in question or Excel app. If the issue is with the specific workbook, copy the content (Ctrl+A to select then press Ctrl+C to copy) of the workbook and paste it over a new workbook, save it with a new name and then try printing. Kindly try connecting another printer to see if it works.

The OS is Windows 11. This has started occurring recently but as far as I can tell no significant updates have taken place.
