    Hi Marcia L!

If the region settings are changed each time you restart Windows; Try to do this: Troubleshoot the Windows: Run the compatibility troubleshooter: Click on Start Windows> Type Troubleshooter settings and Click it> Click on Other troubleshooters> Select Windows Updates and Run troubleshooter Restart the PC

If the issue persists, I suggest you direct the question to the Windows Operating system community forum where there are dedicated experts that will help resolve the issue of Windows 10: https://answers.microsoft.com/windows/forum? Thank you. The language was set to WIndows preference in Excel. I changed it to English.

However, I am concerned that my Region settings are changed each time I restart Windows.

How can I stop that happening?

    Hi!

Then you may need to set the Excel language to English.

Click File> option> select language in the left pane> select English language under office display language, move it to up to set it as preferred.

    Kind Regards, Shakiru

    Hi Shakiru

It was a Windows update. Suddenly all the dates in my existing Excel files were showing in Hebrew (I live in Israel, but I have always used English on my PC, in the Windows interface and in MS 365).

I did exactly what you suggested to change the date format but the only format options I was given were Hebrew options.

Then I checked the Region settings and to my amazement, it was set to Hebrew. I changed it back to English with the date formats I always use, but when I went back to my Excel files, the dates were still in Hebrew.

An hour or so later, I saw that the English date formats had returned.

I then restarted my PC. After the restart, I checked my Region settings in Control Panel - and they were set to Hebrew again!!

How can I make sure that my Region settings don't change every time I restart my PC?

    Thank you for your help.

    Marcia

    Hi Marcia L!

I'm sorry, do you mean Windows updates or Office 365 updates?

Also, do you mean, the date format in the cells does not change?

If it is date format in the cells in excel that you mean, please do this:

select and Right-click the cell> Select Format cells> Select Date under category> under location, choose the Region (the country) with the date format that you want.

Kindly reply if you have any more queries.

    Kind Regards, Shakiru
