Module Not Found

Running Word 365. All of a sudden, when I open the Developer tab and click the Macro icon on the Ribbon, I get a "Module not found" message (which is really not very helpful, since it doesn't say which module isn't found).

Then, if I click OK, it opens the Macros dialog anyway, so I can pick one to work on. Same thing happened when I select either a Manual Hyphenation button or a Print Current Page button I'd put on the Quick Access Toolbar.

This just started. Any idea of what's going on?

Thanks!

    Dear User,

Good day!! Thanks for posting your concern in this Microsoft Community.

Per the description shared, I would like to summarize your concern i.e., when you open a Word document which is enabled with Macros and went to the developer tab to click on the Macros, you encounter an error message "Module Not found".

If my understanding is correct, I agree with you regarding the error prompt not being clear and sorry for the inconvenience caused due to it and suggest you to report the behavior to the related development team via adding the feedback in the Word app.. Reference: How do I give feedback on Microsoft 365? - Microsoft Support

Coming to your concern, I would like to confirm whether the problem is happening on the specific Word document or all Word document with Macro enabled? Can you please create new Macro enabled Word document to see whether you encounter the same problem?

If the problem is with every Macro enabled Word document, please perform Online Repair to the Office apps and check the outcome? Reference: Repair an Office application - Microsoft Support

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

    Sincerely,

    Mia | Microsoft Moderator
