SharePoint Migration Tool Error: "Package Engine has stopped because Azure Queue failed."

When running a migration on SPMT using custom Azure Storage, the item gets stuck at 19% and displays the error "Package Engine has stopped because acquiring Azure queue failed. (ErrorCode: 0x02040015)".

  • The custom Azure Storage account is a General Purpose V2.
  • All endpoints listed here have been configured.
  • The migration works as expected when disabling custom Azure Storage.

Has anyone experienced this issue or have any suggestions to fix this?

Thank you in advance!

    Dear Bethany Howard,

    Good day!!

To my search, the error message suggests that the Package Engine failed to acquire an Azure queue, which can indicate an issue with the Azure Storage account configuration. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check the Azure Storage account configuration: Make sure that the Azure Storage account you are using for the migration is configured correctly. Check that the access keys are correct and that the required endpoints are configured. Also, ensure that the account has the necessary permissions to access the queue.
    2. Check the network connectivity: Make sure that there are no network connectivity issues between the migration tool and the Azure Storage account. Check that the firewall rules are configured correctly to allow traffic to and from the Azure Storage account.
    3. Try using a different Azure Storage account: If the issue persists, try using a different Azure Storage account to see if the issue is specific to the current account.

If still the problem persists, please contact the SPMT team by creating a support ticket from the Office 365 admin center where they can check the logs generated by SPMT and perform further investigation.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused and thanks for your patience.

    Have a good day!!

    Best Regards,

    Sophia
