I am currently working on project in which I need to track assets in access. The issue is inputting a barcode into the system which I am currently stumped on where to even begin.

Barcodes are just a form of input. They will go into a field in a table once they are scanned. Handheld scanners can plug into your computer to provide that input. The rest is standard stuff.

In addition to having the bar code font, have you obtained a barcode scanner? You CAN definitely enter bar codes manually using the key board, of course, but that loses the point of having them available via the scanner.

This article seems to be an accurate overview.

Have you already downloaded/installed a barcode font on your computer?
