My word document from a shared Teams folder failed to upload but appears to have been stored locally as it still opens after I shut down my computer.
Could you please tell me where are these files stored? I hope to recover a file that did not upload yesterday that has done missing (>10hours work). Thank you

    Hi

I'm Taiwo and I'd be happy to help you with your question. In this Forum, We are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

If your Word document failed to upload to a shared Teams folder but appears to have been saved locally on your computer, you may be able to recover the file from your local storage

    1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the "Documents" folder.
    2. In the search bar at the top right, type in the name of the Word document. If you can't remember the exact name, you can try searching for a keyword or phrase that you remember from the document.
    3. If the file appears in the search results, right-click on it and select "Open file location." This will show you the folder where the file is stored.
    4. If you still can't locate the file, try searching for it in other folders on your computer where you may have saved it.

I hope this helps ;-), let me know if this is contrary to what you need, I would still be helpful to answer more of your questions.

    Best Regards, Thank You.

    Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately I have not been able to find it. With many colleagues we are working on one document on shared Teams file. I have been working on it in my "desktop app" so could use word normally (I use microsoft office 365 on a macbook).

Seems there has been a big issue with saving/uploading the data and none of my work has been saved......

What I would personally suggest that you do is open your Word Application, and possibly if the file still exists in there as something you can edit, and save it to a different location on your Mac. This way you know where precisely the Word document is saved and you can re-upload it from there into OneDrive.
