Restrictions running Hyper-V under W10 Professional x64?

Please help me understand the restrictions applicable to running under W10 Professional x64. Some users are trying to run Hyper-V under W10 and it does not seem to support either more than one socket or more than 64 logical processors.

Please notice that this SS from the VM running W10 Professional x64 as the host and guest. Cinebench on a 64/128 core/thread AMD 3990X. The VM recognizes all 128 threads (logical processors) but only runs half. Can this be changed with a setting or will it work in W10 Professional x64 for Workstation or Windows Server?     Hi,

    Windows 10 Professional should support:

    • 2 Sockets
    • 128 cores

    LeonLaud, please look at the SS I posted above! It is obvious that Hyper-V is not dispatching work to half the logical processors (64) even though W10 sees all 128. When the 3990X is run stand alone all 128 run 100% and the CB score is much higher. We are looking for what the support of Hyper-V is running under W10 x64 Professional. I read the posted link some time ago and it contains an erroneous SS showing 2 Sockets while the 3990X has only one as seen above. Thanks and enjoy, John.

    Almost none of the things I have been pointed to make any sense to me.     This SS has 8 sockets and something called 'Host logical processors', so cannot be W10. None of our W10 SSs have such. I really need a document that will explain the support provided by Hyper-V running under W10 x64 Professional version 2004.19041. Thanks and enjoy, John.
