Any chance you have a section break at the end of the document?

I print service Folders for my church. They are printed on legal paper, with a booklet fold. It seems that when I print a service folder that requires more than 4 legal sized papers, duplex printed, Microsoft Word creates a new document that is 1 blank letter-sized page and prints it before the original document prints. I cannot figure out what would cause this, nor does anyone I've talked to know.

Is it possible that there's a setting in the printer to "print" a blank separator sheet between jobs?
It is possible that there might be. I can’t find it but I’m not sure where to look for it. We have a Canon ImageRunner 1435i. It only happens with more than 4 legal sized pieces of paper.
I realize that if the document isn’t a multiple of 4 that the service folder itself will have blank pages, but this is a completely separate sheet that is not even the same size that prints before the actual service folder. When I open the print queue, it is a separate document t with 1/1 pages.
The number of pages must be a multiple of 4
