Hi there,

When I try to add to add data model in power pivot. It shows this error in the screen shot (1, 2, 3)

-Initialization of the data source failed

-An issue with the Data Model is preventing Microsoft Excel from opening this workbook...

Also, on clicking the Manage Data Model or Add to Data Model under PowerPivot tab, it shows the screen shot (4)

-PowerPivot is unable to load the Data Model

Please assist.

Click or tap Microsoft Office Program installed in the PC, and then click or tap Change. Click or tap Online Repair, and then click or tap Repair. You may have to restart your computer after the repair process is complete.

Please let me know if this helps.

    Hi,

Thanks for that additional information. You're definitely on the right path of troubleshooting. Have you also tried reinstalling the Office app, just to further isolate the problem?

    Warm Regards, Jay Cee

Yes I did reinstall. I even tried downgrading to 2019. Same issue persist.

I had to reinstall 2021, did online update again. Still not working!

Hello, I am Leonielhou, an Independent Advisor and a user like you, I am happy to help clarify any questions you may have.

Contact your database administrator to see if they can assist with the issue.

If the issue persists, create a new data source connection to the database and use that instead. If you are still encountering the errors, it may be due to corruption in the data model. Try repairing or recreating the data model.
