I have attached a link to a sheet in which there's two independent groups that contain the incomes of a random sample size. I used Excel to create a descriptive statistics table and a box plot for each of the groups. It turns out that the values given in the box plot is not matching the values in the descriptive statistics table. Such as Q1 (first quarter) and Q3 (third quarter) values.
For example, the Q1 value of the first group (GR1) is 32.25 in the table and 31.5 in the box plot. I did the calculations by hand and I got Q1 as 31.125. This inaccuracy is happening for both the groups.
What might be causing this inaccuracy and how can I fix this?
