Not Getting Authenticator Pushes

I just replaced my Android device, and most everything seems to be pretty smooth.

But when I try to do anything Microsoft-adjacent, it asks to verify using Authenticator. Cool.

The phone displays the two digit code I'm supposed to approve in the Authenticator app. Cool.

BUT what's not cool is, I don't get an alert - and when I go to Authenticator, it displays an eight-digit token, but not the two-digit code I'm supposed to approve.

Notifications is "on". I don't know what else to look at.

Thanks,

    Well if you're "eagerly" awaiting...!

"Allow background data usage" is indeed checked.

Hi I, I am Sumit, an Independent Advisor. Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

It usually happens when Android system puts your Authenticator app into sleep. Can you press and hold the app, click App Info, and ensure background activity is enabled for the Authenticator app?

    I eagerly anticipate your response.
