SharePoint Column Validation

Hello!

I have a list where items are submitted. I have two columns specifically that potentially need to be used in the column validation. I have tried all the formulas I could think of, and the formulas do not work. I am wondering if I am missing something crucial in the capabilities of the column validation field. My two columns the first one is a "Yes/No (check box)" and the other with the option of column validation is a number field. The logic is if the yes/no column is checked "Yes", and the number field is left blank there would be an error message that would pop up and remind them to put a number in the number field or uncheck the yes box. I added my screen shots but not sure if all 4 of them were able to upload. I know there is a solution to this but it has to error out with this specific situation. All the other situations have to let the requestor run through the submission process.

Thanks,

Sarah George

    Hi Sarah,

Since your screenshot was not successfully uploaded, I don't know your steps and your formula. Please check if your steps are the same as below and tried the following formula.

I created a Number column called "Number" and created a Yes/No column called "Yes/No"

    1. If you need to reference another column, you can't build the formula in column validation, you should build it in the list validation.

Go to the list, click Settings> List settings> Validation Settings.

    1. Try the following formula and enter the related message.

    =OR(NOT([Yes/No]),AND([Yes/No],NOT(ISBLANK([Number]))))
