Microsoft Bookings - custom hours not working

I'm running into issue setting custom hours for a service on MS Bookings. It'll only be for 1 week, so I set general availability on the Edit service page/Availability options for "Not bookable" and then added the "Availability during these dates" option with custom hours. Most days include multiple time ranges (e.g., 12:30-2 p.m. and 3-5 p.m.).

The public bookings link reflects the custom date range, and the starting times reflect the custom start time for each day. However, every day displays continuing options up to 8 p.m., even when the custom time ends earlier. The multiple time ranges in a day are also not reflected in the available bookings: They all begin at that day's custom start time and run through to 8 p.m.

On the Booking page, I've tried setting general availability both as "Not bookable" and "Set different availability for a date range" with the custom times. Neither of those affects the issue for the service. I've also double-checked to ensure that the time zone is correct.

What can I do?

(I tried multiple times to include screenshots, but all uploads failed. Hopefully the text will be clear enough.)

Dear Cara B,

Many thanks for getting back to us,

Based on the description and screenshot you have shared; may I please confirm if you assigned staff for the service? if yes, please kindly check if the custom hour is selected. To do this, open your Microsoft Booking --> Staff -->Select the staff you assigned to service -->Edit staff --> check if Use business hours option is enabled, if not kindly enable it --> Save changes. You can refer to the screenshot below.

If the issue still persists, we need more information from you, please kindly provide us the following information. Thank you.

  • Could you please provide us with the screenshot of your assign staff page of the affected service via private message?
  • Could you please also provide us with the screenshot the staffs page via private message?

Below are the steps to open private message:

Hi Libeamlak, thanks for checking in. I checked the setup on the general Bookings page and the specific service, and all were the same as you advised.

Here's the time zone setting on the general Bookings page:

Here's the availability for a particular service:

And here are the time slots that show up when I click the service booking page link. I've circled the slots that should not appear, based on the time settings for May 15 (they run until 7:30 p.m.):

    Dear Cara B,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to assist you.

As per the description you have shared, we understand that you have a concern with custom hours in Microsoft Booking.

I have been testing your query from my side, based on my test result I can able to set the custom hours for specific days with multiple time rage. You can refer to the screenshot of my test results.

Test set up #1 General availability "Not bookable" and I set a specific start date on 5/5/2023 and end date on 5/12/2023. Then I used your query custom hour rage (12:30-2 p.m. and 3-5 p.m.), Here, I have set 30-minute increments, therefore, to include the end time we need to add another 30 minutes in our end time schedule.

     Test result,

Therefore, to better understand the issue and provide possible solution, we need more details from you, please kindly provide us the following information. Thank you.

    • May I please double confirm if your public bookings link time zone and your Booking page time zone is same? if you haven't check it yet, please kindly Open your Microsoft Booking --> go to Booking page -->Expand Region and time zone settings --> Under Current time zone, check if it is same time zone with your public booking link time zone, if it has difference, please kindly change and Save. then try if there is any update. You can refer to the screenshot.

If the issue still persists, please kindly provide us with the screenshot of the issue and your booking service set up.

We look forward to your update. Kindly note that the above requested information is required for further analysis and troubleshooting of your situation. Your patience and cooperation are much appreciated.

    Thanks for your precious time.

    Have a nice day.

    Sincerely,
