Hi

I would like to know the limits of MS Forms. I have a number of forms that use branching from a number of questions but when the form gets to a certain size, I get the message to reduce the questions.....frustrating as I am now splitting the form up to accomodate all the branching....

Many thanks

    Hi Adam

I'm AnnaThomas and I'd happily help you with your question. In this Forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

Microsoft Forms allows you to create up to 200 questions per form/quiz. However, there is no limit on the amount of branching you can use in a form.

It’s important to note that you can only branch to a question that comes after the current one, and not a preceding question.

For example, if you have seven questions in your form and want to add branching to question 4, it can only branch to questions 5, 6, 7, or end of form.

If you’re reaching the limit of questions per form/quiz and need to split your form into multiple forms to accommodate all the branching, you could consider using sections to organize your questions and make it easier for respondents to navigate the form.

I hope this helps ;-), let me know if this is contrary to what you need, I would still be helpful to answer more of your questions.

    Best Regards,

    Hi,

Would it work to have multiple sections of 200 questions each? So the total number of questions per form would be, say, 600. However, you would have three sections of 200 questions?

    Hi

thank you for your reply...however I would like to know the limitations of an MS Form. I have a property list of almost 1000 addresses which need to be branched depending on the address to the next question in the form.... a) the form wont save because of the number of addresses. I have now had to split the form into 4 separate forms to accommodate the project....b) just freezes and wont let me continue,.......

    Regards

There is no limit on the number of times you can branch within a form . However, there is a limit of 200 questions per form/quiz . If you have a large number of properties and are using branching extensively, it’s possible that you may be reaching the limit of questions per form/quiz.

If that’s the case, one option could be to split your form into multiple forms as you mentioned. Another option could be to use sections to organize your questions and make it easier for respondents to navigate the form.

    Hi AnnaThomas

Thank you for your reply - understand everything you have said however, the form I have at the moment has a list of over 300 properties split over 3 sites...choose one site and their set of properties appear....choose one from the list and it should branch to the next question. However it does not....have i reached the limit of the number of times I can branch?

I previously had a form with 1000 addresses in and branched to diff parts of the form but the form would not, so I had to aplit it up into 4 forms....a real pain...hence the question

    Thanks

    A
