Tick boxes in Excel

Hi all

I have a range of cells and each have a tick box inside, eg A1, B1, C1 and D1 all have tick boxes. Is there any way I can create a formula in E1 that will look at how many have been ticked and tell me what percentage that equates to? For example, if you tick two boxes, it returns 50% etc. I don't know how to get the formula to look at the contents of a tick box.

TIA, Louise

You can set the linked cell of the check boxes to the cell they occupy, i.e. set the linked cell if the first check box to A1, etc.

The cell will then contain TRUE or FALSE depending on the state of the check box.

The formula to return the percentage of ticked check boxes in A1:D1 is

    =COUNTIF(A1:D1, TRUE)/COUNTA(A1:D1)

Format the cell with the formula as a percentage.
