Converting SharePoint site

Does anyone know if converting a team's SharePoint site to a communication site is possible?

We created a site based on an office 365 group however we now want it visible to the organisation - is this possible?

    Regarding your queries, please view the following information.

    1. No, it is not possible to convert a modern team site to a communication site. Only a classic site can be converted to a communication site.
    2. Yes, it is possible.

    You can make the Microsoft 365 group public, then add the group "Everyone except external users" to the default site Member group via Settings> Site Permissions> Advanced permissions settings, click the site Member group> New.

    If you want the external users also have permission, please view this article.

    Based on the situation, if you haven't spent much time building the team site, I recommend you contact your admin or IT department to delete the team site, then create a new communication site.
