Based on your description, for the error message you got, please first refer to the below article to troubleshoot the possible reason for this behavior:
Besides, try the following steps to check the outcome:
- Try to clear the OneDrive credentials then sign in again to see the outcome.
- Go to Control Panel > User Account > Credential Manager> Manage Windows Credentials
- OneDrive Cached Credential>Edit> input your OneDrive account username and password>Save
- Then sign in OneDrive again to see the result.
- Unlink OneDrive by clicking OneDrive icon from task bar>click Help & Settings>Settings>on Account tab, click Unlink this PC>Unlink account. Then sign in your account in OneDrive again. For your reference: Unlink and re-link OneDrive (microsoft.com)
- Reset your OneDrive to see if you can sign in. Refer to Reset OneDrive (microsoft.com)
- Please also make sure your OneDrive is the latest version. You can check and download the latest version in : OneDrive release notes - Microsoft Support
