For about 2 or 3 months I have had intermittent syncing problems with one of my users. The error She is getting says, "The server you are trying to access is using an authentication protocol not supported by this version of Office". When she restarts her device she is able to sync with OneDrive without problems. It is happening in OneNote and in Word. This is happening maybe 3-4 times per week. Her sign-in logs through Azure are successful apart from one or two that Fail due to authentication issues with username and password. Below is a screen shot example of the error. Thank you for your help!

    Dear Caldawg97

Good day! Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

Based on your description, for the error message you got, please first refer to the below article to troubleshoot the possible reason for this behavior:

"The server you are trying to access is using an authentication protocol not supported by this version of Office" error in OneDrive - Microsoft Support

Besides, try the following steps to check the outcome:

    1. Try to clear the OneDrive credentials then sign in again to see the outcome.
    • Go to Control Panel > User Account > Credential Manager> Manage Windows Credentials
    • OneDrive Cached Credential>Edit> input your OneDrive account username and password>Save
    • Then sign in OneDrive again to see the result.
    1. Unlink OneDrive by clicking OneDrive icon from task bar>click Help & Settings>Settings>on Account tab, click Unlink this PC>Unlink account. Then sign in your account in OneDrive again.  For your reference: Unlink and re-link OneDrive (microsoft.com)
    2. Reset your OneDrive to see if you can sign in. Refer to Reset OneDrive (microsoft.com)
    3. Please also make sure your OneDrive is the latest version. You can check and download the latest version in : OneDrive release notes - Microsoft Support

If the scenario above is not consistent with yours, you can also post back and point that.

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. I hope that you are keeping safe and well!

    Sincerely,
