Allow "Open In Excel" For Online View, Instead Of Downloading It First.

Question

I totally understand the mechanism of creating a form on the web that enables you to view excel online. However, is there any way that I could possibly open my excel online rather than download it first? Note that I have already created the form and used it before realising that the excel needs to be downloaded first before I can use/view it.

According to your description, my understanding is that you created the questionnaire in the Form and you want to open the questionnaire through the web version of Excel:

If the function button you mentioned looks like the one above, then downloading to local is the expected behavior. In Forms, if you need to view the response through Excel, you need to create and access the file through the client.

If you want to access the file directly from Web Excel, I recommend creating Forms for Excel in OneDrive so that you can open the file directly from Web Excel. The difference is that the Excel is created in a different order,using OneDrive creates Excel files directly:

Thank you very much for the prompt response. Does this meaning I can't open the Excel online via Microsoft Forms? And I had to recreate my forms using Forms for Excel in OneDrive.

I love creating Forms for Excel in OneDrive as it allows me to view real-time data after responders submitted to the form. I wish there is a feature that allows us to duplicate the Forms for Excel and still have that Open Excel Workbook On OneDrive function. This is because I would want to reuse the form template I have created for other purposes.
