Hi,
I just want to copy a column in one sheet and paste-special the link in another sheet in the same workbook. Excel gives me this Alert: "Unable to paste link".
How do I solve this issue?

Thank you.

You can't use Cut and Paste Special with Paste Link because when you cut the column it is removed and then there's nothing to link to.
You have to use Copy, not Cut.
You are correct that when you use Paste Link you have to repeat the steps to paste to another worksheet. If you wish to automate this task you can record a macro and then modify the recorded macro to repeat the process as needed.
Hi,
I thought that I had this problem worked out based on the previous posts of Bert Sylvestre but I could cut/paste link only once by pasting to a new worksheet (default) instead of a user-named sheet. After that, the problem persists.
I also tried to cut/paste link to another workbook and that works out too but the problem stays..I can only do it once.

Any better solution?

Hi RT044
Here's how to accomplish paste link.
First, select the entire column you want to copy by clicking the letter at the top of the column. In this example, Column A is selected. The entire column will be shaded to show that it is selected.
Next, activate the COPY command in whatever way you are accustomed to. The selection will now have dotted lines to alert you that content has been copied to the Mac OS clipboard.
Next, click on the sheet tab that you want to paste the column to. The column you want to paste to must be empty and be without merged cells. Right-click on the cell in row 1 of the target and choose Paste Special > Paste Special.
In the resulting Paste Special dialog, click the Paste Link button.
