Does Windows handle Excel differently in Windows 11? (Validation data - List)

Hi,

Microsoft Office 365 is installed on 2 laptops and I have an Excel file with a range of fixed times in a list named "TIME" on a separate worksheet in the same file as the table I want to display these values in. When I click into the cell to pick a value from the list there are 2 ways this same file is displayed in Win 10 on laptop 1 and Win 11 on laptop 2.

The reference list has 210 cells in it so it's annoying if I have to make changes say to times after 22:00 etc.

Validation rules for the cell :-

Win 10 (32-bit O/S) :-

Win 11 (64-Bit O/S) :-

Is there anything I can do in Windows 11 to make this function behave like Windows 10?

Thanks.

    Hi Vanguard_1

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community forum. I hope you're doing well.

Based on your description, it seems to be that you have a problem with the data validation on Excel wherein it has a different output in Windows 10 and 11. Let's work together to find the best solution to this problem.

To answer your question, as far as I know this functionality works the same with Windows 10 and 11. However, for us to properly isolate the problem, I would like to ask a few questions.

    • May I know what is the version and product name of your Microsoft 365? Is it the Microsoft 365 Family/Personal or Business?
    • Does this happen to an existing file or even with newly created file?

In the meantime, I suggest that you update your Office applications. You may refer to this link for step-by-step guide. Install Office updates - Microsoft Support

I look forward to your reply.

    Sincerely
