Does Microsoft Account Security "Request denied in app" imply the person signing in knew my password?

More or less the title of the question. I would like to know if the "Request denied in app" implies that the person knew my password and then failed to two-factor. This would be useful to know to figure out if my password is compromised.

    Hi Andaharoo!

I am Shakiru, an independent advisor and a user like you, and I am glad to be helping you out today.

Yes, the message "Request denied in-app" in Microsoft Account Security usually indicates that the person knew your password but failed to provide the additional verification required by the two-factor authentication process.

It could indicate that someone unauthorized was attempting to access your account.

    Best Regards, Shakiru
