load project template when changing enterprise project type

In our environment we load projects as a proposal. This allows us to capture data and run some project complexity items to then determine what type of enterprise project type (EPT) to use (i.e. Non-Complex, Complex, Full Phase Gate, etc.).

So initially there is no project schedule that is loaded with the Proposal (EPT), but when it is changed from Proposal to one of the other EPTs that have template project schedules associated with them the schedules templates are not loaded. However when creating a new project directly using the EPT, that has a schedule template associated with it, the schedule tasks are loaded.

Is there anyway when changing the projects EPTs to have it load in the template schedule with the new EPT or does this only work when creating a new project as indicated above?

Thank you.

Chad --

It only works when creating a new project using an Enterprise Project Type. I just did some quick testing to confirm. You can change the Enterprise Project Type and the Workflow Stage, but the change will not change the enterprise project template used with the EPT. Sorry, but hope this helps.
