Sharepoint member count cannot be added

A client of mine uses SharePoint for their organization and has multiple sites. All but one displays the typical member count/list in the top right. For the life of me, despite my research, I cannot get that count to be added to the site. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

D

    Dear D,

Thanks for writing back and updating us.

As you mentioned the site is not connected to the Office 365 group, I would like to convey that the number of members will be displayed for the sites that are connected to the Office 365 group and communication sites, for the rest site templates, the number of members won't be displayed.

    Appreciate your understanding and patience.

    Best Regards,

    Mia

    Hi!

I am unsure if this site is a 'communication site' but I can confirm it does not have an O365 group attached.

The issue presents itself in normal and private browsers.

The member count was never seen on that site as we can't figure out how to get it to display. It does display on other sites however.

    Dear D,

Good day!! Thanks for posting your concern in this Microsoft Community.

Per the description shared, I would like to confirm whether one of the SharePoint Online site doesn't show the number of members information at the top right of the SharePoint Online site. If yes, I would like to confirm the following which will help us to move further:

    1. Can I know the type of the problematic site? Whether it's Team site connected to Office 365 group or communication site or other type?
    2. If you open the site in the InPrivate browser or a new browser, do you still have the same behavior?
    3. Have you noticed the member count previously on the problematic site?

Thanks for your understanding and patience.

    Sincerely,

    Mia | Microsoft Moderator
