Hello,

I sync a Sharepoint folder through the web browser. However, in the Explorer view, the SharePoint folder appears empty!
Have tried to unlink account, reinstall onedrive but it did not work.

What is the issue with this? Is there a work around?

    Dear Zahir Karim,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community.

As per your description, it seems that you have synced a SharePoint folder to local device via OneDrive sync client, however, it appears empty in local sync folder. And you have already tried OneDrive unlink and reinstall.

Generally, OneDrive sync app will give a message or an error to indicating any problem with the sync. May I know if there is any error showing up in OneDrive sync client by clicking on the blue cloud icon in the Windows notification area? If so, please share a screenshot with us.

Additionally, we'd recommend you try below steps to see the outcome.

    1. Please check if you have enough permission for the sub-folders in the synced SharePoint folder. It is recommended to remove your permission and re-add back to check the outcome.
    2. Please check if there's any invalid characters, or if the path is longer than 255 characters. For your reference: Restrictions and limitations in OneDrive and SharePoint - Microsoft Support
    3. Please check if selective sync is enabled, select the OneDrive cloud icon in your notification area, and then select the OneDrive Help and Settings icon > Settings > Account > Choose folders.
    4. If the suggestion above doesn’t work, if it's convenient and if you are willing, please try using a new user profile in Windows to check the outcome, this will help narrow down if this issue is related to old user profile. Create a local user or administrator account in Windows (microsoft.com)

If you still see the same behavior, please provide us with the following information:

    1. May I know the version of OneDrive app?
    2. Does the OneDrive app on computer says “Up to date” or “Processing” etc.?
    3. Which OS you are using on your affected Windows computer?
    4. What about the other users in your organization, will they encounter the same situation as yours?
    5. What about the other sites and the OneDrive site, can you see the files and folders in sync location if you set up sync with other sites?

Thanks for your cooperation and understanding! We will look forward to your reply.

    Stay safe and stay healthy.

    Sincerely,

    Rhoda | Microsoft Community Moderator

    Hi Rhoda,

    Thank you for your response.

    1. May I know where I can check permissions for the sub-folders in the synced SharePoint folder?
    2. I don't think the problem is invalid characters or if the path is longer than 255 characters, as my colleague can sync the folder without any errors.
    3. I have open  Settings > Account > Choose folders and it show the error below :

    Dear Zahir,

    Thanks for posting back.

    1. For checking the permission, please select the folder Trustana in the browser, click the three points, Manage Access, Advanced, Check Permission, and input your account to check. After that, please share the screenshot of your permission.
    2. according to the screenshot in your reply, please provide your OneDrive version (click OneDrive settings> the About tab> share its build number). Also, since it works well on your colleague's side, I would like to know if his OneDrive version is the same as yours.

We look forward to your response. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,
