    Andy H,

Are you still experiencing the same issue after following the steps above to improve the performance of OneNote?

If you are still having issues, open OneNote and go to File > Options > Advanced > enable Smooth Ink when drawing with pen option. And, ensure all the settings were enabled.

    Hello Andy H,

I’m Gunasekar and I will be happy to help you with your question, I am a Microsoft consumer like you.

I understand that you are having trouble with OneNote performance on your Windows device. You could try the following suggestions below and share the outcome.

    1. Check your pen's battery -

If you're using a Bluetooth-enabled pen, check the battery level to make sure it's not running low.

    1. Update OneNote -

Click File > Accounts > Update Options > Update now. Restart your device.

    1. Ensure you have the latest version of the Operating system running on your device. Go to settings > System > Update and security > Windows updates > Search for the latest updates and install them.
    2. Try disabling any unnecessary background processes that may be running on your device, as these can take up resources and slow down OneNote.
    3. Uninstall and re-install the latest version of OneNote and check the outcome.
