Hi there,

My files folders disappeared from my desktop. These files were also stored in onedrive. However, files were also empty in ondrive. No idea where my information has gone!

Thanks in advance for your help.

Kind regards

Bayron

    Hi again,

I have recovered a few folders with valuable info, so big thanks. But I still have many empty folders with the cloud icon. It's confusing why I have some folders with half or less of the info I had before and others still empty. For example, I had a Eurotrip folder with pics which had inside different folder names: Berlin, Amsterdam, etc...Well.. some of them have pics, and some of them do not anymore. Out of 10 folders, I got 2 (green tick) of them with some pictures and another eight just empty (icon cloud).

On the other hand, I have recovered important documents thanks to advice. if you could please give more advice on this would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Bayron

    Hello again,

Try this on the onedrive app:

Click the OneDrive Icon on taskbar > Click settings (gear icon) > go to the account tab > click unlink this PC

    Click the link below: https://support.office.com/article/3c4680bf-cc36-4204-9ca5-e7b24cdd23ea

    Hi Fuad,

Firstly, many thanks for your answer. I did not stop onedrive from sync and do not have any folder name "where are my files". regards the last question, I do not know what do you mean.

Also, I have a desktop folder in ondrive on my PC, but within the desktop folder, there are folders (with a green tick) and others (the majority) with a cloud sign. I don't know why this happened. I think is something to do with sync browser, which is why I lost most of my information.

    I would appreciate any help.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hello Bayron A,

Thank you for coming to the forum.

Did you at any point stop the onedrive from syncing?

Also, is there a folder on your desktop named, "Where are my files"

    Lastly, have you checked C:\Users\Username\OneDrive\Desktop?

    Give a reply

    Best Regards Fuad
