MS Lists duplicates registered elements

Dear Community

Our team uses Lists to distribute tasks and track progress.

Unfortunately, Lists has now suddenly started to double the items entered (see screenshot). It is also not possible to delete the elements, as both identical elements are always selected directly. I couldn't figure it out in the settings and display options either...

Many thanks for your help!

Greetings

Michael

    Dear respected Barmettler Michael,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

I’m sorry you’re having a problem but based on your description we can work together to resolve it.

For the situation you encountered, we deeply understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

As per your description, it seems that you use grouped by the "Status" column. As per your screenshot, I notice that your SharePoint List grouped by the "Status" column in descending alphabetical order.

In the "Group By" view settings, if you select "show groups in ascending order" and check if it shown in correct view. And set the groupings are collapsed by default. Or sorting viewing the list rather than in the view settings.

    .

Also, could you please, try to uncheck/recheck grouped by the "Status" column and see there is any difference.

Also, if possible, could you please try to test in newly create SharePoint online list (for test purpose) and verify the result with me. It will help for us to narrow down your problem.

We appreciate your understanding that sometimes the initial suggestions may not resolve the problem very soon. However, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation. So, please kindly provide more information below to let us work further.

Appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    Waqas Muhammad

Thank you very much for the quick and useful answer!

When I switch to the ascending display, everything is displayed correctly and the doubling also disappears. But as soon as I switch back to descending, it doubles again.

What do you mean by creating a new SharePoint list?

Thank you for your further assistance!

    Best regrads,

    Michael

    Hi respected Barmettler Michael,

Thanks for your valuable feedback and sharing updates with us and I really appreciate your effort and your precious time doing.

And I appreciate your kind words.

This is a trick, I suggest you, if you switch to the ascending display, it will display correctly. However, I found sometime this is a bug behaviour when we as soon as switch back to descending (you may report this behavior to Microsoft product developers' team via this link: Microsoft SharePoint feedback portal,

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. I hope that you are keeping safe and well!

    Sincerely,

    Waqas Muhammad
