Error with the Read Aloud Function

When I try to use the Read Aloud function, I get the following error:
Oops!
To choose what voice you hear while using read aloud, sign in with your microsoft account.
The result is that rather than the male/female voice, I am left with the following three options: Microsoft George, Hazel, and Suzan. Each of these voices are far more robotic than the standard male/female.
I have tried to restart my computer, close the application, log in and log out, update my client, etc. No success thus far. Any suggestions?
