MS-projects weeknumbers keep counting up instead of reset with new year

Hello,

Currently I'm facing a problem regarding the timescale of my Gantt-chart. The problem is as follows:

On the middle row of timescale settings I've selected a weeknumber display, but when the new year starts (in this case January 2024) the weeknumbers keep counting up, instead of a reset back to week 1 (see picture). I've tried countless different settings but nothing seems to do the job... Unfortunately.

I'd appreciate if someone knows the solution to this!

Niek

Niegeruig --

OK, thanks for sharing the video by my MVP colleague, Erik. I need to correct my original answer. If you want the weeks to repeat on a weekly basis, you need to select the 1, 2, ... 52, 1, 2, ... option on the Label pick list in the Timescale dialog.

I confirmed that this DOES work. I sincerely apologize for giving you a wrong answer. Have you tried picking that particular option? If so, does it work for you? Let us know and we will try to help you.

Could you share one or two of those YouTube videos with me? I would like to see what you are seeing. Thanks!

Okay... On various Youtube videos regarding timescales I've seen weeknumbers starting at '1' again at the begin of the new year. What would be different in their settings compared to mine? Or are you telling me it's simply not possible to let weeknumbers reset? The only thing I want is that weeknumbers are correct and in line with the calendar/

It's a bit odd to me that a management software like this doesn't count like a normal calendar does.

    Niegeruig --

It appears you selected the option that displays the number of weeks from the Start date of the project. That is why the numbers keep growing each year.

In the Timescale dialog, the options on the bottom of the Label pick list give you the option to display weeks from either the Start date the project or from the Finish date of the project. But there is no option to display the weeks per year so that you can see them the way you want. Sorry, but hope this helps.
