Edit, not open, embedded excel table in word document

I cannot "edit" an embedded excel table in a Word document, I can only "open" it. When I try to "edit" it, it opens, when I try to "open" it, it opens. I need to resize the table so that additional rows will show in the Word document.

    As per the description shared, we understand your concern and I would like to confirm the few things which will help us to better understand your situation for guiding you in the right direction:

    1. Word app version. Open the Word app> Account> Take a screenshot and share it with us.
    2. Does the problem happens with a specific embedded Word document or all embedded Word documents?
    3. When you double-click on the embedded Excel workbook and try to edit the workbook, do you encounter any error?

    Hi Mia,

    Here is a screenshot.

    The problem happens with all Word documents and all embedded Excel tables. I used to be able to edit them, and I don't know what has changed.

    When I double-click I do not have any errors, it just opens the Excel table in another window, the same as when I "open" rather than "edit".

    Please note that this is a known bug in WORD.

    This isn’t going to work properly until Microsoft provide a fix.
