Mail Merge Issue

I am creating labels from Exel. I have removed every format and filter. I have copied the content to a new excel sheet 3 times. I have turned off and on my pc. When I begin the merge, i have zero issues until I get to the last step in the merge. the information filters in. I select that last step to be able to edit the page which essentially creates another word doc all formatted that you can change font and size etc and at this stage, word just freezes. I get that circle spinning around and it literally wont stop. I am not getting any error messages on excel or word so I have zero clue how to trouble shoot this. I did a question search here and tried what was suggested here and still nothing. The version of word i have is 2016. I do this same merge with this same contact at least 4x a year so I cannot fathom what is happening this time. its 470 labels. Please help.

    Thanks for this. I tried this am. still getting hung up on the same section. I have to get this darn thing done andive bee fiddling with it all weekend. ugh!!

    It is a basic tutorial.

    However, it may approach the merge from a different direction or using different tools.
