Microsoft Report Builder Stopped Running After Attempting Connection via Connect link at Bottom Left of App Window

Working an assignment for class, and in the middle of the seminar the professor is trying to figure out why his previous data links aren't coming up in the recent list.

After some research I'm pointed toward the Connect hyperlink at the bottom left of the window. After clicking this link and selecting my SQL Server the program closes. Now, every time I attempt to open it, the splash pops up, then a sort of wireframe of the program before it closes.

There is no error window that pops.

I have opened normally, and as admin with no change.

I restarted my computer with it installed.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, including doing a super clean uninstall(removing everything including registry stuff)

I uninstalled, then restarted, then reinstalled.

Nothing seems to change that it opens the splash, then a wireframe sort of loads, then the program closes.

I have not been able to find any answers to this issue despite researching for multiple days, so now I present this issue to you.

My current fix is using my laptop rather than my desktop, and I didn't try to create the more permanent link I previously tried. Now it's just time consuming to have to manually connect for each report.

    What version of Report Builder are you using?
    Have you tried this operation on other devices, because it will help rule out whether it is a configuration problem of your device.
