How do I have a Powerpoint online and have it only show presentation mode. I don't want viewers that have powerpoint to be able to see tools etc.

I think Jazlyn misunderstood your question. Unfortunately, when you share a link to PPT on the web, people who follow the link will see the presentation in Normal (ie, editing) view, even if you save the presentation as a PPSX.

Workarounds include saving from PPT as PDF or movie.

    Good day! Thank you for posting your query in our community.

    Per your description, you mentioned "tools", may I confirm whether you mean the below tabs?

    If yes, you can share the PowerPoint file to viewers with "Can view" permission. When viewers open the PowerPoint file on their side, they could see the tabs. However, those tabs are greyed out on their side, they don't have access to editing tools or interface elements:
