Format data series

So my professor left us an assigment to do he said that if we hovered the mouse over the chart it would give us the option of "format data series" like he shows on his example but when i try it doesnt let me at all! I dont know what to do i have a macbook air and i just downloaded the latest excel.

I uploaded how it looks on his example and how mine looks (as i explained though when i hover the mouse over the orange line it doesnt show an option like his does! HELP!

    When the chart is selected hovering over a line, bar, etc. produces a tip box as shown here:

    To produce the contextual menu shown in your illustration you need to right-click the chart element you want to alter in some way.

    Just curious, did you try hovering over the blue lines?
