Hi, When I click on compare documents and then select the 2 documents -> the comparison looks to have started but at the end of it, Word crashes. I have tried it multiple times but it doesn't seem to work.

This is happening repeatedly and Compare is a feature we use repeatedly.

Is this a subscription version of Office (such as Microsoft 365 Family) or a perpetual (one-time purchase) license such as Office Home & Student? Which version number do you see at File > Account?

    Hi Prashanth K

I’m Segunfunmi, an Independent Advisor and Microsoft user like you. Thanks for posting the query here in this forum.

I'm sorry you're having trouble with the compare documents feature in Word. Here are some suggestions that might help you troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Save both documents in the same format (.doc/.doc, .docx/.docx, etc) and rerun the comparison.
    2. Repair the document in Word.
    3. Copy the document content into a new Word document and save it as a new document.
    4. Start Word in safe mode to confirm if the issue is caused by third-party add-ins such as the 'send to Bluetooth' add-in. To start Word safely, press Win + R, type winword /safe, and press Enter to create Word.

I hope these suggestions help you resolve the issue. Let me know if you need further assistance.

    Best regards segunfunmi
