Try to have the user restart the computer. Usually the user logged into the computer using the old credentials and it's cached for logging into SSO sites. Upon changing the password, they can lock and reenter the password, or restart the machine.

Recently we are facing an issues with the SharePoint 2016 Single Sign On. Whenever user changes AD Password it keep asking for username and password.
