Hi Community,

I am attempting to create a user access list in Excel for our team. This list will help us keep track of the software each user has access to. Here's how the setup looks:

Sheet 1 (User List):

This sheet contains a comprehensive list of users and the software (Software 1 to Software 9) they have access to.

Sheet 2 (Software 1's Access Sheet):

This sheet displays the users who have access to Software 1. Active users have no highlighting, while inactive users or those with access revoked are highlighted in red.

Currently, I manually highlight cells in red for inactive users and in green for active users under Software 1 in Sheet 1.

I'm looking for a way to automate this process. I want the cells in Sheet 1 to automatically change color based on the user's status on each software's individual sheet. For instance, when I highlight a user as inactive on Software 1's sheet, the corresponding cell in Sheet 1 (under Software 1) should automatically turn red. Similarly, if I highlight a user as active, the respective cell in Sheet 1 should automatically turn green.

How can I set up this automatic highlighting process? I am using Mac.

    Hi

The feature you can use is called Conditional Formatting. There's a lot you can do with this feature. Here's a tutorial:
