I am getting an error box in Excel that says Excel is not running properly and will need to be closed. It asks "Repair Now" and when you hit the button it just closes the app on my PC.

    Hello,

Thank you for coming to the forum. My name is Fuad, and I'm happy to help you in the best way I can.

Note, I am a user like you, this is a user forum and not Microsoft directly.

Can you try the below and give me a reply?

We can clear out with the below if the problem is from the Office setup. Please do be patient with me as we try to get to the root of the problem if the online repair does not clear this.

First, before you do the Office Repair: Do a Windows Update.

    1. Click Start
    2. Type Windows Update > "Click Windows Update Settings"
    3. Click Check for Update
    4. After the Update Check is done, Click download and install for all the update
    5. Reboot your device

    Office Online Repair Steps

    1. Right Click on Start > Select Installed Apps or Apps and Features
    2. Scroll down until you see Microsoft Office Version
    3. Click the three buttons beside the Microsoft Office Version
    4. Select Modify
    5. Click Online Repair (this will take a while to be done)
    6. Restart the device

Click the (reference) link below for guidance https://support.office.com/article/7821d4b6-7c1d-4205-aa0e-a6b40c5bb88b

    I kindly await a reply for a follow-up.

    Best Regards Fuad
