Problems with unwanted shading.

I'm using Word on Windows 10. I've just noticed that a very light grey shading has occurred that doesn't respond to the no color option for either shading or page color. Help, please!

In Word, text shading can be applied to a whole paragraph or to a range of text characters. As Tim suggested, a screen shot might help us diagnose the issue.

What you can try is to select the text and press Ctrl+Q (to clear paragraph level formatting) and then press Ctrl+SpaceBar (to clear character formatting). Does that change anything?

Note that removing formatting may remove more than the shading, if your document contains a lot of direct formatting.

    Hi,

I'm Tim, an Independent Advisor here and a Microsoft user like you. I don't work for Microsoft and do not have access to any of your data on their system.

Could you provide a screenshot of the issue you’re seeing please as it may assist other advisors and I.

    Kind regards

    Tim
