Excel Visio Data Analyzer issue

Hello,

I am on an M365 Enterprise account and am trying to use the Data Visualizer in Excel. I've tried using the visualizer in excel web and excel desktop. I've also tried on OneDrive and in my local storage but am getting the same message. As I watch it load, I do see that a sign-in as happened but it's presenting me with a sign-in error below (sorry, I can't seem to upload an image).

Error message: "Your OneDrive access needs to be setup for saving the Visio file. Please make sure you have valid OneDrive license and have access to OneDrive. You may need to work with your admin to get the access."

I do have OneDrive and have tried inserting a Visual from an Excel in OneDrive unsuccessfully.

Any ideas on what to do to resolve this?

Thanks,

Dear respected M Christopher,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

I’m sorry you’re having a problem but based on your description we can work together to resolve it.

For the situation you encountered, we deeply understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

As per your description, my understanding is that Data Visualizer Add-in keeps created diagrams on OneDrive under user account. Diagrams itself are generated on Microsoft server based on data is sent to the server from your file.

Firstly, may I know are you able to access OneDrive for web? if you go to www.Office.com and sign-in with your Office 365 account and click on OneDrive icon.

Also, may I know are you able to save the file in SharePoint instead of OneDrive?

Here is trick. try to save new file on SharePoint and after that start to create something with Add-in, it saves data on this SharePoint site. For example, start with the Excel file being in SharePoint and open it in the desktop application and see if you are able to add the Data Visualizer.

We appreciate your understanding that sometimes the initial suggestions may not resolve the problem very soon. However, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation.

Appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.

Sincerely,

Waqas Muhammad

Thank you. The solution worked beautifully. As you mention, if it is on a SharePoint site, it works fine.

I'm not able to do the same from OneDrive.

I've tried the OneDrive web route and was unsuccessful. I'm good with using SharePoint as a solution for now.

    Thanks,

    Martin
