Hi!

Im having trouble with changing the proofing language in my OneNote. I want it to be set to my local language (Swedish) however the actual proofing language is re-set back to English when i start a new text box in my OneNote program.

The following things have been checked/preformed:

  1. Changed the computer proofing/langue settings (windows 11)
  2. Changed settings in OneNote both display and proofing language
  3. Removed English as a proofing language

This is how the settings regarding the language is set up right now:

However when i start a new text-box in OneNote the language is still set back to English. I have tried all settings i can and i therefore ask you guys for any advices how to correct this issue/error or if im missing anything.

    Hi Peter,

Thanks for posting in the community. We are happy to help you.

According to your description, please try the following suggestions, then check again.

    1. Press Ctrl + A twice to select all content on this page.
    2. Select the Review tab> Language> Set Proofing Language, and choose Swedish as the current language.
    3. After that, please check again.

If the above steps don't help, I would like to collect more information to troubleshoot the situation.

    1. Does the situation happen on specific pages/sections or happen on all pages/sections? Please create a new page to test.
    2. Does the situation happen in other notebooks? You can test in another notebook or in a new notebook.
    3. Please provide your Office version and product information.

Click File> Account, please take a full screenshot of the current interface.

    1. Does the situation happen in other Office applications, like Word?

We look forward to your response. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    George | Microsoft Community Moderator

    Hi Peter,

    Thanks for posting back.

I have tested in the same version 2308 and it works well. Also, based on my test, the current proofing language will be automatically switched when switching the current keyboard as shown in the below gif. So, I wonder if the situation still happens when using the Swedish keyboard.

If the situation still happens, please try to Repair Office and choose Online Repair (choose the Office suite). After that, run OneNote and check again.

We look forward to your response. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    George | Microsoft Community Moderator

I have tried changing it. However, if I look at it now, and at the right place, I have both English and Swedish.

Hi George! Thanks for your answer and that you take the time!

The first thing you asked me to do before posting this (CTRL + A twice) and change language. However when i start a new text box it's set back to English again.

I have tried creating a new page, section and a new notebook, however that doesn't help. I don't seem to have the same issue in word, there the proofing is working with both English and Swedish.

Please see the SS provided below.
