MS Publisher HTTP Error 400

I'm trying to create a custom border via Format Autoshape in MS Publisher. Whenever I click "Select Picture", I get this error: HTTP Error 400. The size of the request headers is too long. Have done this 100 times with no issues. I cleared all the cookies and cache on all browsers. Still have the error. How can I fix it?

Thanks.

It could be a temporary issue. Glad it works now

Thanks, Anna. I checked all those links, but the problem I am having is different.

Although, I just tried it again and now it works. I wonder if it wasn't a server side MS Publisher issue.

    Appreciate your efforts.

    Hi Anna,

Thanks for the reply. The issue is when I click the "Select Picture" button. I never get the option to select a file. The error occurs before the dialog window to choose a picture appears.

I have cleared the cache and all cookies for all browsers. I have restarted Publisher and rebooted multiple times.

I did repair MS Office, and rebooted after that.

I still get the error. It is local to my computer as my wife has the same computer and same setup but does not have the issue on hers.

Thanks for any other suggestions you could give to solve my issues.

    Hi Kurt

I'm AnnaThomas and I'd happily help you with your question. In this Forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

To fix the error, you can try the following:

Make sure that the image file is in a supported format and is not too large. Publisher supports a variety of image formats, including JPEG, PNG, and GIF. The maximum file size for images in Publisher is 100 MB. Try restarting Publisher. Try repairing Publisher https://support.microsoft.com/office/7821d4b6-7c1d-4205-aa0e-a6b40c5bb88b

I hope this helps ;-), let me know if this is contrary to what you need, I would still be helpful to answer more of your questions.

    Best Regards,

    AnnaThomas
